Excellent article, Fish! Twitching rats while they sleep - hey, I do that too! I had to chuckle thinking of the shaking, wobbling "Robot" on the 60's TV show 'Lost In Space' when the robot says "Danger, Will Robinson!" Clearly the poor robot was not properly programmed or trained to going out solo with Will Robinson into the great unknown spatial frontier. Or like the Tin Man in the Wizard Of Oz, who needed oil to lubricate his joints just to be able to stretch or even walk, never mind before marching off down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and friends in search of the Wizard of Oz.

Like so many aspects in life, everyone needs to digest and learn before taking action to achieve one's goals. Sure, we all, as you say "prefer plans, milestones, roadmaps, and metrics that point in a straight line toward a declared goal." If only life were that simple and organized.

But, more often than not, a quick-fix strategy doesn't always work. In fact, it can even exacerbate an existing set of problems. Take Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus for example, and how bringing him into the Cowboys Defense was the supposed strategy to help mitigate disaster, but in fact, turned into one instead. The whole mindset of bringing on a 14 - 32 head coach from another team was like trying to put a defective square (quickly) into a round hole. More aptly put, a cake can never bake if it's been soaked in water...

Again, I think the best success is to digest first, learn second and then achieve and grow; slow and steady wins the race. And without proper sleep and 'twitching' you end up being a wobbly robot, shaking and ineffective. In the Bible, James 1:19,20 says:

"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." Might I be so bold and say, sleep and dream, observe and learn, then go out and act with confidence.

Thanks again, Fish. I love to read your take on things!🤠
